On Thursday (2/3/22), Mick Jeffries and Leif Erickson hosted a memorial episode of Trivial Thursdays, celebrating the life of famed Kentucky writer Ed McClanahan. Here is what Mick had to say about the show:
“Had the most amazing time this morning on Trivial Thursdays on WRFL celebrating the late great Ed McClanahan aka “Captain Kentucky” with a truly “I-am-not-worthy” group of friends/family comprised of internationally-celebrated KY writer Bobbie Ann Mason, iconic KY photographer Guy Mendes, writer/producer Tom Marksbury, the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning’s Tom Eblen, filmmaker Paul Wagner, writer J.t. Dockery, artist John Lackey, and BORN CROSS EYED’s Lee Owen, and of course, my erudite-in-his-own-right co-host Leif Erickson. If you missed it, you missed a tale of a true Kentucky maniac. Fortunately, we preserved it for you. As long as I can hear in my mind the words “Hi, Mick!” coming from this merriest of pranksters, Ed will live inside me. What a guy. RIP, Captain Kentucky.”
