"Uncle Bill" Bill Widener, aka the Hardcore Living Legend, has been a member of Radio Free Lexington since the day 88.1 FM went on the air in 1988. From then until October 2000, he helmed "Catacombs", the infamous block show dedicated to "underground" music, ie. the weird, the wild, the ugly, the unknown. Retiring from "Catacombs", Widener returned to the air in the spring of 2001, manning - and what a man! - the Friday afternoon drive-time shift. October of 2006, Uncle Bill moved to Friday 8-10 PM, where he continues to define the outer limits of the "general format" concept.
